Week Four

11/22

  • We worked more on finalizing the art of the game. Talking about what kind of races we would want players to be able to interact with. The overall vibe we were going for and its color pallet. We decided we wanted to give it more of a relaxing chill vibe that was bright.
  • We did another play test to see if players would enjoy the changes we made in week three. Overall the changes were held highly and made the game more enjoyable. We had the occasional player suggest the rules needed to account for unexpected situations but on further inspection they had simply misunderstood the rules.

11/29

  • We printed the new board that we were planning on using for the final. It was much more colorful and detailed. It gave a great 8-bit vibe. We created three separate decks that were color coded for items, shops, and events. We created an official logo and created our very own box that would hold our game. We also 3D printed game pieces for players to be represented by.

12/6

  • We did our final playtest with all of our changes and were pleasantly surprised that everyone was finally using the shop how it was originally designed. Players wanted to pick up items that were optional throughout the event cards. People were interacting in PvP because they found it fun and we had another winner. Overall they had no complaints which made us feel validated in all of our changes!

Final:

  • 12/6 was our final date, but I wanted to say I loved working with all of you and I hope to see you in future classes. Good luck Emerald Team! You all were the best! :)
